Ordering:
Orders may be placed 24 hours a day via our web site. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover card purchases through PayPal. C.O.D. shipments are not accepted.
Our products are not in stock at the time of purchase. All of our products are handmade per order and our turn-around-time may be somewhat longer than what you are accustomed to for commercially available products. It will take 5 business days to create the products and prepare your order. Business days are Monday-Friday, excluding federal holidays within the United States. During sales, it can take up to two weeks to ship your orders. You will be sent a shipment confirmation after your order has been shipped.
If we receive your order on the weekend, it will be processed on Monday. If we receive your order on a holiday, it will be processed on the next business day.
Unfortunately, we are unable to make any changes to your shipping address or updates to your order once it has been submitted. To avoid delay in your order processing, please confirm the contents of your cart and your shipping information before you complete your order.
Payment:
Your security during your shopping experience is of the utmost importance to us. That is why we have partnered with PayPal to provide you with a secure, quick and easy payment process. You can rest assured that all of your valuable information is being processed using the latest in web security. Paypal protects your information with VeriSign Identity Protection. Companies, governments and public institutions worldwide trust VeriSign to secure their sites and protect their brands.
Through PayPal, you have two payment options. If you hold an existing PayPal account, you can sign in to your account and pay through it, which means you don't ever have to send us your financial information. PayPal protects your financial information with industry-leading security and fraud prevention systems. When you use PayPal, your financial information is not shared with the merchant. Once your payment is complete, you will be emailed a receipt for this transaction.
If you do not have an existing PayPal account, you can still process your secure order through PayPal by providing credit or debit card information. This information is still processed through PayPal's secured system; the only difference is that if you already had a PayPal account, you would not have had to enter this information. We never see your credit card information; the transaction is handled entirely through VeriSign-secured PayPal.
All orders to California addresses must be charged 9.75% sales tax, according to state law.

Mail Orders:
You can add products to the shopping cart and once you get to the payment page, print it out without paying. Send the printout with payment to: Marie Dean Hair & Body Care, 10401 Venice Boulevard, #295, Los Angeles, CA 90034. Please remember to include the $5.00 shipping fee. If you are a California resident, please also add 9.75% for sales tax.
Cashier's checks and money orders are accepted, however, your order will not be shipped until your cashier's check or money order clears our bank. MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care does not accept personal checks.
Sales Tax:
Marie Dean Hair & Body Care charges 9.75% sales tax on orders placed within the state of California.
Order Changes and Cancellations:
We do not accept order changes once an order has been processed.
All cancellations MUST be made within 24 hours of making your purchase. Please submit any cancellations via email to customerservice[at]mariedeanonline.com. We start creating your order rather quickly and can only accept order cancellations within 24 hours.
Email cancellations must contain the following: First name, last name, order number, and email address. This information must be identical to the information originally submitted on your order. Please provide contact information so that we may contact you if we have questions in regards to canceling your order.
Every effort will be made to accommodate the cancellation of your order, providing your order has not been created or shipped out. In the event that a cancellation was submitted (via email), and your order was already created after that submission, we will reserve the right to not refund the complete balance charged including tax.
Orders which are REFUSED AT DELIVERY will be assessed a 10% fee - including restocking, cancellation and other applicable fees.

Refunds & Returns:
Due to the natural aspect of our handcrafted products, we cannot accept returns, issue refunds or credits. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us within 24 hours of receiving your order so we can provide you with the best customer service solution possible.
FedEx / USPS Returns:
Should you fail to claim your order and it is sent back to us, we will not re-ship for free. If a refund is requested, we will deduct the actual cost of shipping we paid to ship your package be it more (or less), from your refund.
International Returns:
If the package(s) is returned to us because of an address error made by the customer or the customer refuses the package or the items ordered are not allowed into the country by customs, the customer will be responsible for the initial shipping cost and the shipping cost billed to Marie Dean for the return of the package.
There will be no credit or refund to the customer for the order If the package is abandoned at customs.
Shipping & Delivery:
We use FedEx Home Delivery and Ground as our primary carrier to ship our packages as we have found it to be very reliable, easily trackable, and cost effective. We only use USPS for POBs, Military Addresses, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and International shipments.
Please Note:
- FedEx Home Delivery delivers on Saturday.
- All shipments through FedEx and USPS come with a tracking number. We provide a tracking number via email as soon as the package is scanned by FedEx or USPS.
Lost/Damaged/Stolen FedEx and USPS Packages After Delivery:
Our shipping method does not require direct signature at the time of delivery. Occasionally, FedEx or USPS will ring your doorbell, oftentimes they will not. If you are not at home at the time of delivery your package may be dropped at your doorstep or another location near your residence by the delivery driver.
We have no control over where FedEx or USPS may leave your package. Any package left at your doorstep or another location near your house is your responsibility. We will not be responsible for lost, damaged or stolen packages after they have been delivered. Again, it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the recipient will be home on the day of delivery to accept the package. No refund will be issued and no order will be reshipped if FedEx or USPS has updated your package information as “Delivered.”
If you know that you will not be home at the time of a delivery to accept the package, or your residence is not safe to leave a package at, please email us at customerservice@mariedeanonline.com to request one of the following shipping options:
- Hold your package at a nearby FedEx or USPS location (FREE).
- Send your package to your place of business (FREE).
- Direct Signature: requires the signature of someone who is 21 years of age or older at the recipient's address ($3.50 FedEx / $2.45 USPS). We will email you a PayPal invoice for the cost.
If you fail to claim your package from FedEx or USPS, it will be returned to Marie Dean, marked as “unclaimed,” and we will not reship your package for free. You will be responsible to pay for the actual shipping cost to have the package shipped out for a second time. If you request a refund, we will deduct the actual shipping cost from the refund.
We are a small business and cannot afford to remake an order and reship for free after we have received confirmation of delivery.
Incorrect Addresses For FedEx Shipments:
If you supply us with an incorrect address/zip code, we will charge you the extra shipping charges that occur for correcting the address or intercepting the package; you agree to this additional charge to your PayPal account. FedEx charges $11.00 for delivery intercepts/address corrections -- please make sure your address is correct!
Tracking Your FedEx Package:
We will email you a tracking number after your order is shipped. Please be sure to track your package and make arrangements for someone to accept it upon delivery.

USPS Claims:
Claims for shipments lost with the USPS will not be initiated until 30 days after date of shipment to give the post office time to make delivery on packages that may be delayed in transit. We cannot process a claim for a shipment that is scanned as "Delivered" by the post office. Contact your post office and speak to your postal carrier as soon as you determine you haven't received your shipment.
International Shipments:
International orders are shipped via the United States Postal Service (USPS). We offer a flat rate shipping fee of $21.00 for International shipments. Please do not ask us to declare your merchandise as Used Goods, Gifts or Samples, or to under declare its value.
International orders may take up to 30 days to arrive. Often, international packages are held at customs for 2-4 weeks before being delivered. United States Postal Service has no control of the delivery of mail once your package reaches the destination country.
Marie Dean’s liability for USPS International shipments ends when your freight forwarder takes delivery of the package. We will not be responsible for damage in transit beyond the delivery point regardless of whether your package is insured as USPS insurance only cover transportation from our location to the delivery point specified on your order.
Customs Costs:
The shipping charges you pay to Marie Dean do not include customs fees, import taxes, brokerage fees, or duties. International orders are generally subject to customs fees, import taxes, brokerage fees, or duties. We are not responsible for, nor can offer any specific advice regarding any customs related fees that you may incur. Additional charges for customs clearance must be accepted by you. Please check with your country's customs officials for any rules regarding importing cosmetic (beauty) products.
If you refuse to pay the customs fees when your order arrives, the shipment will be returned to Marie Dean and we will be charged the customs fees plus return shipping costs. Therefore, we do not issue refunds for customs fees, shipping, or the cost of your order if you refuse to pay the customs fees.
USPS International Claims:
Claims for USPS International shipments can take up to 2 months to complete. In order to replace your lost shipment, we must initiate a claim after the 30th day of shipment and prior to the 60th day. Please note, the cost of shipping is not declared as part of the cost of the goods. Therefore, International shipments are insured for the contents only and not for the cost of postage. If your shipment is lost or damaged, you will be required to pay the postage on its replacement prior to reshipment.
Abandoned USPS International Shipments:
There will be no credit or refund to the customer for the order if the package is abandoned at customs.
PayPal Notice For U.S. and International Customers:
Unless you have a “confirmed” address on your PayPal account, we will not accept the payment nor ship your order. If you are wishing to purchase with a credit card you must set up a “confirmed” account with PayPal and process your payment through PayPal.
Shipping Liability Disclaimer:
Marie Dean is committed to prompt, secure shipping; however, we will not be responsible for lost, damaged or stolen packages after they have been delivered to your supplied shipping location. It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the recipient will be home on the day of delivery to accept the package. If in doubt, consider shipping to the recipient's place of business OR notify us to hold your package at a FedEx or USPS location nearest you. You can email us at customerservice@mariedeanonline.com.
Packages that are refused, unclaimed or returned to us will not be reshipped free of charge. The buyer will be responsible for the actual shipping costs associated with any reshipping of packages.
Summer Shipping Notice For:

During the hot summer months, we are unable to guarantee that the hair or body butters will arrive in the same condition that they were sent. Hair and body butters purchased during hot weather may melt during shipping. If melting occurs, simply place the hair and/or body butter in a cool place or the refrigerator until it becomes firm. These items cannot be refunded or exchanged if they melt.
Summer Shipping Notice for Hair Mousse:
We are unable to guarantee that the Hair Mousse will arrive in the same condition that it was sent. Hair mousse can deflate or settle during shipping.
The Hair Mousse cannot be refunded or exchanged if it deflates or settles.
In-Store Pickup:
At this time, we do not have in-store pickup at our location.
Fraud Protection Policy:
Orders are subject to MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care's verification procedure. For your protection, you may be asked to verify that you are the card owner, or that the order information is legitimate. This may include a request for a copy of your credit card (front and back), which can be transmitted by fax.
Should your order require verification, you will be notified by phone or email. For this reason it is imperative that you provide us with both your current daytime and evening phone numbers.
MARIE DEAN Hair & Body Care reserves the right to refuse an order when the address or credit card is not verifiable.
Product Shelf Life:
Our products are made using natural ingredients and a reliable, safe paraben-free preservative. We recommend using our products within 12 months of purchasing them. The shelf life can be extended by storing the product in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
Product Abbreviation
Our products that contain silicones and will be acknowledged or noted by an "II". We've also created hair and body products specifically for customers who are butter-sensitive, oil-sensitive and protein-sensitive. These products are noted as OILESS, BUTTERLESS or PROLESS. Please see our Product Abbreviation List below.
PRODUCT ABBREVIATION LIST:

OILESS - The product does not contain oils; perfect for individuals who are oil-sensitive.
